A round trip booking means one cab and one driver stay with you for the whole journey — out and back. You leave Pune or Mumbai in the morning, the same vehicle waits at every stop, and it brings you home. No hunting for a return taxi in an unfamiliar town at 8 PM, no separate booking, no fresh negotiation.

Pravasi Cab runs round trip outstation service from Pune and Mumbai to destinations across Maharashtra and neighbouring states — Shirdi, Mahabaleshwar, Lonavala, Nashik, Bhimashankar, Goa and more. Round trip fares work on a per-day kilometre package, which is a different pricing model from our one way cabs. Understanding that difference is the single best way to keep your travel cost down, so let's start there.

Round Trip or One Way — Which One Costs You Less?

This is the question we get asked most often, and the honest answer depends on one thing: are you coming back?

  Round Trip One Way
How fare is set Per day, with a fixed km limit Fixed fare for that specific route
Cab waits for you ✅ Yes, all day ❌ No, drops and leaves
Multiple stops ✅ Allowed within km limit Limited — point to point
Tolls & state tax Paid separately ✅ Already in the fare
Best for Same-day return, weekend trips, pilgrimages Relocation, airport transfer, no return needed

💡 A Real Example — Pune to Shirdi and Back

Say you want to visit Shirdi and return the same evening in a Sedan.

Booking two one way cabs: Pune → Shirdi is ₹3,143 and Shirdi → Pune is ₹3,720. That comes to ₹6,863, and you'd have to find and confirm a second cab in Shirdi.

Booking one round trip: the drive is roughly 372 km both ways. On the Sedan 300 km package at ₹4,000, you pay for 72 extra kilometres at ₹12 — about ₹864. Total ₹4,864 plus tolls, with the same cab waiting through your darshan.

Round trip saves close to ₹2,000 here — and removes the hassle entirely.

Flip the situation and the answer flips too. If you're moving to Mumbai for good, or dropping a relative at the airport and not returning, a one way cab is clearly cheaper — you're not paying for a return leg you don't need. Tell us your plan on WhatsApp and we'll quote both, so you can see the numbers side by side before deciding.

How the Per Day KM Limit Works

Every round trip booking carries a daily kilometre allowance — either 250 km or 300 km per day, depending on the vehicle and package you pick. The important detail: this allowance is pooled across all days, not capped per day.

On a 3-day booking with a 300 km package, you get 900 km in total. If day one is a long highway run of 500 km and day two is a relaxed 150 km of local sightseeing, that's perfectly fine. Only the total matters. Anything beyond 900 km is charged at the extra-kilometre rate shown for your vehicle.

Which package to pick is simple arithmetic. Estimate your total round-trip distance, add roughly 20 percent for local movement at the destination, and divide by the number of days. If the answer sits near 250, the 250 km package is cheaper. If it's closer to 300 or above, the 300 km package usually wins because the per-km rate inside it is lower — ₹11 instead of ₹12.50 for a Hatchback, for instance.

📌 Minimum billing: a round trip is billed for at least the daily package even if you travel less. A 2-day trip covering only 200 km total is still billed as 2 days. Our team will tell you honestly if a local hourly package or a one way booking would work out cheaper for your plan.

📌 What's Included & What's Not

Included: Cab, fuel and driver allowance for every day of the trip.

Not included: Road tolls, state tax and inter-state permit charges, parking fees. These are billed at actuals — a point worth noting if your trip crosses into Goa, Karnataka or Gujarat.

Driver Allowance and Night Charges, Explained

Driver allowance covers the driver's meals and stay when the trip runs overnight or across multiple days. For cars — Hatchback, Sedan, Ertiga, Innova and Crysta — it is ₹400 per day. For Tempo Travellers it is ₹600 per day, since these trips typically run longer and the driver stays out for more nights.

You do not need to book a hotel room for the driver. Every fare on this page already has the allowance built in, so the number you see is the number you pay — nothing gets added at the end of the journey. If your trip extends by an extra day, one additional day's package plus allowance is added, and we confirm that with you before it happens.

2–3 days: Trimbakeshwar (249 km), Nashik, Ashtavinayak circuit, Kolhapur (235 km), Ganpatipule (312 km)

4+ days: Goa (449 km), Belagavi, Bengaluru

🚗 Round Trips from Mumbai

Same day: Lonavala (83 km), Alibag (98 km), Karjat, Kashid Beach, Nashik (166 km)

2–3 days: Shirdi (240 km), Mahabaleshwar (231 km), Aurangabad & Ellora (331 km), Ganpatipule (340 km)

4+ days: Goa, Kolhapur (376 km), Bengaluru

A practical note for pilgrimage travel: Shirdi, Bhimashankar and Trimbakeshwar all involve long waiting periods for darshan. Round trip is almost always the right choice there, because the cab and driver stay with you rather than the meter running or a second booking being needed. For the Jyotirlinga circuit and Ashtavinayak, a multi-day round trip with a single driver who knows the route is by far the smoothest way to travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a round trip cheaper than booking two one way cabs?

For a same-day or short return journey, almost always yes. Pune to Shirdi and back works out to roughly ₹4,864 as a round trip versus ₹6,863 as two separate one way bookings in a Sedan. If you are not returning at all, one way is the cheaper option.

What happens if I cross the daily kilometre limit?

Extra kilometres are charged at the per-km rate for your vehicle — ₹12 for Hatchback, ₹13 for Sedan, ₹17 for Innova and so on. The limit is pooled across all days, so a long day is balanced by a short one.

Do I have to pay for the driver's food and accommodation?

No. Driver allowance is already included in the per-day fare — ₹400 for cars and ₹600 for Tempo Travellers. You do not need to arrange or pay for the driver's meals or stay separately.

Are tolls and state tax included in the round trip fare?

No. For round trips, tolls, state tax and permit charges are paid separately at actual cost. This differs from our one way cabs, where those charges are already built into the quoted fare. It matters most on trips entering Goa, Karnataka or Gujarat.

Can I extend my trip by a day after it has started?

Yes, subject to driver and vehicle availability. One additional day's package plus driver allowance is added, and we confirm the revised amount with you before extending. Call our team as early as you can so we can plan the driver's schedule.

Is a Tempo Traveller available for round trips?

Yes. Options run from 12-seater to 20-seater in both AC and Non-AC, starting at ₹7,600 per day for the 12-seater Non-AC on a 300 km package. These are the most common choice for pilgrimage groups and family functions. Book well in advance for weekends and festival season.

How far in advance should I book a round trip?

For a car on a weekday, a day's notice is usually enough. For weekends, long holidays, Tempo Travellers or multi-day trips to Goa and Bengaluru, book at least a week ahead. Pravasi Cab operates 24/7, so last-minute requests are still worth a call.
